SCHEDULE: M-F; 7:45 am - 3:45 pm -1 to 2 days per week as needed
SUMMARY
The radiology assistant is identified as "an advanced-level radiologic technologist who works under the supervision of a radiologist to enhance patient care by assisting the radiologist in the diagnostic imaging environment."
The Radiology Assistant is not a radiologist nor a physician assistant but rather a valuable addition to the radiology team who can enhance quality patient care by performing advanced-level radiological services under the supervision of a radiologist.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for obtaining and maintaining accountability of service. Including a detailed review with the radiologist of the unsupervised service being provided, including a detailed patient history for fluoroscopy, CT, Mammography, Ultrasound, Bone Density, and MRI. Patients under the supervision of the radiologist have their imaging determined.
Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures utilizing the RIS/PACS and inpatient charts as necessary.
Responsible for oversight and administration of various procedures that are performed in the scope of radiology services under the guidance of the supervising radiologist.
Cleans, restocks, and prepares rooms on a daily basis.
Attends hospital and departmental meetings and in-services, peer review process as required.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
2-year college certificate or equivalent
Computer skills required.
Must complete a program for the training of radiologic assistants approved by the New York State Education Department.\
NYS license as a Radiology Specialist Assistant
NYS license in Radiologic Technology
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior Radiologic Technologist experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to work in various software applications preferred.
Exceptional customer service and communication skills preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- RTC - Radiologic Technologist certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- RT(R) - Registered Radiologic Technologist - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
PAY RANGE: $48.07 - $72.11
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
