Nurse Practitioner- Urology Surgery (No Call, No Weekends + Sign On Bonus Up to $10,000)

Summary

We’re seeking a skilled and patient-focused Nurse Practitioner to join our collaborative surgical team, with a primary focus in Urologic care. This role offers a rare opportunity to enjoy work-life balance while working in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting. Under the supervision of a physician or administrator, you’ll play a key role in providing high-quality patient care — including medical examinations, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and First Assist in the operating room.

You’ll be cross-trained across 9 surgical specialties, allowing you to broaden your skills and grow professionally, while still maintaining a strong clinical foundation in urology.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patient Satisfaction. Interacts on a frequent, regular and daily basis with patients, family members, medical/social/public services support, regulatory agencies and/or payor agencies. Interaction and communication requires expressed empathy, understanding, problem-solving, education, information gathering, process influencing and counseling.

  • Medication & Orders. Prescribe medication, write orders, perform procedures and respond to emergency and/or immediate condition changes of acute, critically ill patients.

  • Documentation. Obtain complete, detailed and accurate patient histories, review patient records, perform physical exams, record all pertinent data to develop comprehensive medical status, diagnosis and clinical treatment

  • Patient care. Primary focus of urologic inpatient service coverage providing Monday through Friday support 7a-5p including rounding, consults (including non-urgent calls placed overnight), admissions and discharges. Participate in daily surgical signouts at 7am and 5pm. In periods of downtime, additional clinical work can be assigned by Surgical APP Lead.

  • Professionalism. Participate in weekly Department of Surgery conferences. Participate in the training of student learners and new APPs within the department. Responsible for urologic safe connect entries related to departmental quality improvement.

EDUCATION:

  • MS: Nursing (Required)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
  • NP - Nurse Practitioner Certification - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PAY RANGE: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
