Job Title: Nursing Shift Supervisor
Department: Long Term Care
Location: DeMay Living Center
Hours Per Week: 40
Schedule: Eve/Night, 2p-10 and/or 10p-6a

SUMMARY:

  • The Off Shift Director of Nursing is a Nursing Leader who serves as a resource for problem solving, provides clinical expertise, facilitates staff mentoring and coaching, facilitates patient flow during the off shifts (typically, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • · Oversees & assures short & long term Nursing Dept. staff schedules per established guidelines.

    · Facilitates units in emergency medical assessment & care of residents including interventions, transportation & other resources needed.

    · Serves as a clinical resource person to staff in problem solving, assessments, special procedures & clinical skill enhancements.

    · Coordinates with the Nursing Staff resident units & admissions dept. the rapid admission of residents including obtaining evaluations as indicated.

    · Serves as adjunct to staff development coordinator in promoting planned in-services to nursing staff as per master schedule/plan.

    · Provides continuity of resident status with hospital supervisory staff, and Nursing Administration.

    · Supervises the M.D.R. directing, interacting with residents, families and staff in providing safe, pleasant mealtime and assuring appropriate completion of required records.

    · Serves as major facilitator in QA program for Nursing Dept. including completion of assessments of designated audits & resultant actions required.


    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    · Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program

    •Minimum of two to three years of RN experience
    · Registered in NYS as a registered nurse professional.

    . Basic Life Support (BLS)

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    · Bachelor’s degree preferred.

    · LT PAC nursing experience preferred.

    · One year of supervisory experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $40.50 - $57.69

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
