SUMMARY:
As an Occupational Therapist, your strong attention to detail and excellent evaluation skills are crucial to successfully restoring or improving each patient’s optimal level of function, independence and quality of life.

Our occupational therapists work to restore your upper body function and motility by addressing your range of motion, strength tasks, coordination, sensation, endurance, and visual skills.

Our occupational therapists who specialize in neurorehabilitation help you to regain the ability to engage in independent living activities (such as eating, cooking, grooming, bathing, dressing, safe use of the toilet, tub and shower, household tasks) as well as activities that have personal meaning and value.

Our occupational therapists who specialize in orthopaedic rehabilitation provide non-operative and post-operative treatment for the upper limbs, including treatment for conditions of the shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluation & Development. Perform a complete initial evaluation of referred patients using evaluation protocols, standardized tests and clinical observations; develop and implement treatment plans, including short- and long-term goals and methods to achieve them; adjust treatment plan and goals as needed
  • Documentation & Communication. Maintain complete documentation of patient evaluation, treatment, progress and discharge status; counsel and teach patients and families; coordinate care plans with other involved health professionals and discuss changes in treatment programs with MDs
  • Employee Development. Assist with the supervision and guidance of new personnel, assistants, students and volunteers as assigned; develop and conduct in-service training programs

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy, bachelors, masters or doctorate.
  • Current NYS Occupational Therapist License or limited permit as a Registered Occupational Therapist.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 to 6 months of previous experience preferred.
  • ElderONE EMPLOYMENT: 1 year experience with frail elderly population preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $68,500.00 - $97,760.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
