Job Title: Unit Clerk/Monitor Tech
Department: CPH ICU
Location: Canton-Potsdam Hospital
Hours Per Week: 37.5 hours weekly
Schedule: 12-hour night shift, 6:45 pm - 7:15 am; Required to work two weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) out of a four-week posted schedule
SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Nurse Manager or delegate, assists in planning, organizing and evaluating the activities occurring at the nursing station by performing clerical and receptionist duties and maintaining the physical environment of the area. Assists with other duties as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms for CCU and medical/surgical patients, promptly alerting nursing staff of irregularities.
Perform clerical tasks including maintaining patient records, processing physician orders, answering phones, managing supplies, and handling faxes/photocopies.
Support unit operations by welcoming visitors, assisting with patient transfers/discharges, coordinating with transport services, and occasionally helping staff with patient lifting.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and infection prevention policies while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Complete and pass assigned coursework: SLH- Rhythm Recognition for Critical Care Monitor Technicians, within 1 month of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or GED Certificate of Completion
Minimum 1-year previous experience in acute care setting
National Telemetry Certification
Cardiac Arrhythmia Recognition course with documentation of completion
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
PAY RANGE: $18.27 - $27.67

Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
