Job Title: Unit Secretary
Location: Park Ridge Living Center - 1555 Long Pond Rd, Rochester, NY 14626
Hours Per Week: 40 hours
Schedule: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with rotating weekends
Position Summary:
- Coordinates and disseminates information on a patient care unit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consistently utilizes professional communication skills with all customers and is proficient in the use of telecommunication equipment.
- Responsible for the coordination of the patients arrival and the initiation of the admission process.
- Responsible for processing physicians orders in an accurate, complete and timely manner.
- Demonstrates ability to multitask; answer phones, transcribe orders, schedule tests, etc.
- Responsible for accurate and complete maintenance of the medical record.
- Provides general clerical and receptionist support for the patient care unit and associated programs from initial contact right through discharge process.
- Coordinates each patient's daily schedule with nursing and other departments.
- Disseminates information appropriately.
- Responsible for maintaining forms/secretarial supplies on the unit.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Graduate or GED.
- Six months clerical experience in a medical area; data entry, typing, general office skills preferred.
- Experience with public contact, with good interaction and communications skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
PAY RANGE: $17.25 - $18.25
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
