SUMMARY

Under the direction of the SLH System Controller, in partnership with Director of Revenue Recognition, role supports the acute care revenue recognition and financial reporting efforts. Prepare financial analysis required to ensure the appropriate level of acute care revenue is maintained and completes monthly variance analysis. Assist the department in developing the revenue budget. Provide other financial analyses, as requested.

SCHEDULE: 8 Hour Shifts

ATTRIBUTES

•BA in Accounting or Business, with prior revenue experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
•Minimum of 3 years of prior revenue experience.
•Strong analytical, computer, and communication skill

RESPONSIBILITIES

Revenue Expertise
•Learn healthcare contracts and reimbursement methodologies and stays abreast of regulatory and other changes impacting revenue
•Enhance professional growth and development through education, seminars and conferences to keep abreast of accounting field

Compliance Reporting
•Maintain and prepare any Federal or NYS reports required to be filed, including but not limited to the surcharge and cash receipts assessment filings
•Assist with independent interim and year end audit responding to all requests and inquiries.

Revenue Calculation
•Accurately calculate and record hospital inpatient and outpatient revenues on a monthly basis for inclusion in the monthly financial statements
•Perform revenue analysis utilizing automated revenue recognition model (SPB) to provide detail related to volume, rate, acuity and other reimbursement related variance explanations
•Maintains patient services statistics, as needed.
•Support the department efforts in the development of processes, methodologies, schedules and reports needed to ensure the accurate, consistent and timely recognition of revenues

Annual Revenue Budget
•Assist in developing the annual revenue budget for acute care operations, using affiliate volume projections, third party rate estimates and adjustments for other reimbursement issues deemed to impact fiscal year revenues
•Performs other duties as assigned.
