Vice President, Laboratory Operations - DRUGSCAN
The Vice President, Laboratory Operations will provide strategic oversight and direction for laboratory operations at DRUGSCAN, a part of ACM Global Laboratories. Responsible for developing, implementing and refining operational strategies for laboratory services to meet short-term and long-range business objectives. In partnership with the Lab Director, ensures high-quality patient testing.

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s degree in Business Administration strongly preferred.
7 years of laboratory leadership capacity required with expertise in toxicology testing.
15 years of experience in a laboratory required.
Strong people management skills and experience
Outstanding communication skills.
Experience managing a 24/7 lab operation
Six Sigma/Lean training
Excellent analytical skills (KPIs, dashboards)
Understanding of LIS/LIM (preferably Apollo)
Familiarity with modern LCMS instrumentation capabilities
Knowledge of lab automation systems and applications
Operations. Oversee all operational activities related to running the laboratory, including people, processes, and technology. Ensure valid, reliable, accurate, precise results are generated in the laboratory. Ensure lab services result in successful client deliverables. Lead, manage, and allocate appropriate resources, including personnel and facilities, in a cost-efficient manner. Achieve successful and timely completion of all services, projects, and objectives. Manage lab policies, procedures, and systems to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of lab services.
Improvement. Evaluate and standardize operational processes. Develop operational metrics for the production laboratories. Lead improvement in all aspects of the laboratory. Continuously evaluate laboratory processes and workflows for improvement opportunities.
Strategic Planning. Establish short-term and long-range operational planning objectives. Develops, maintains and reports Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for workflows, resources, quality and turn-around times for laboratory testing; drives initiatives to meet and exceed KPIs. Develop and track operational and financial metrics, such as cost-per-test, to support financial planning. Prepare, implement, monitor, and adjust lab operating budgets as necessary to meet company strategies, goals, and objectives. Ensure proper quality control metrics are monitored to support appropriate oversight of generated data. Participate in acquisition, growth activities, and new company business line efforts to support overall business objectives and plans. Develops business plans for proposed new programs/services, to justify requests for additional staffing, capital equipment or supplies based on laboratory needs.
