SUMMARY
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you are the engine and the heart of patient care at Rochester Regional Health. The Acute Stroke Unit (7800) collaborates with a multi-disciplinary team to provide a delivery care model based on evidence-based practice to facilitate and optimize stroke care during the primary prevention and acute care phases of a stroke. 7800 has a robust history of providing stroke care and has received multiple accolades:
1st Joint Commission accredited Stroke Unit on the East Coast
Recognized by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses with the Beacon Award for Excellence
Certified by the DNV as a Comprehensive Stroke Center – operating under all of the best-practice guidelines for patient care
Certified by The Joint Commission as a Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center
Awarded the Target: Stroke Honor Roll Elite Plus award by the American Heart and Stroke Association for the Stroke Unit’s collaboration with the Emergency Department to improve processes that promote optimal care for the acute stroke patient
STATUS: Full Time
LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Acute Stroke Unit (7800)
SCHEDULE: RN Weekend Program
Requires a commitment of 36 hours per week between 7am Friday and 7am Tuesday for a minimum of 26 weeks.
Employees are eligible to remain in the program permanently or after the 26 week minimum commitment return to a different schedule and shift
In addition to the Weekend Only add-on pay, employees in the program remain eligible for applicable premium pay (shift differential, overtime, etc.).

RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Satisfaction. Solicit and respond to patient feedback to improve service and processes that will enhance the patient experience
Medication Administration & Reporting. Administer medication and give/receive relevant reports, both written and verbal
Documentation. Ensure concise, pertinent and complete patient care documentation using computerized medical record process
EDUCATION:
- AS: Nursing (Required)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)
- RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
PAY RANGE: $35.75 - $48.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
