SUMMARY
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you’re the engine and the heart of patient care at Rochester Regional Health. The emergency department can be exciting and exhilarating. At Rochester Regional, we have some of the busiest emergency departments in the state, outside of New York City. Our Pediatric ED fellowship gives recent nursing graduates the unique opportunity to experience the demanding, fast-paced and fulfilling environment only found in a Pediatric Emergency Department. You'll have the chance to apply knowledge learned in nursing school and expand your skills at Rochester General Hospital's Pediatric ED.
The Pediatric ED fellowship features:
- A full-time paid, one-year commitment
- Six month rotation on pediatric-focused units
- Six months exclusively in Pediatric Emergency Department

STATUS: Full Time
LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Pediatric Emergency Department
SCHEDULE: Day/Evening, Evening/Night, Weekends & Holidays as required

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Patient Care & Service: Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; performing various treatment procedures; providing physical, educational and emotional support to patients, friends and families; supervising assigned team members
- Planning & Communication: Develop and document individualized care plans customized for each patient’s unique needs, with support from the interdisciplinary health team as needed; maintain effective communication to convey patient health status, treatment plans and progress
- Electronic Health Record (EHR) Management: Demonstrate proficient use of an EHR – including accurate patient and provider documentation and communication
- Compliance: Adhere to required department and system protocols, regulations (local, state, federal) and education requirements

- AS: Nursing (Required)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)
PAY RANGE: $35.75 - $48.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
