SUMMARY
The Hand Therapist develops and implements rehabilitative treatment programs for the purpose of restoring or improving hand therapy patients' optimal level of function, independence, and quality of life.
Rochester Regional Health offers the largest physical therapy and rehabilitation program in the region. Our team combines compassion and respect with cutting-edge therapy and rehabilitation treatments for patients of all ages - from pediatrics to geriatrics.
STATUS: Part Time
LOCATION: Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation at Ridgeway
DEPARTMENT: Physical Therapy
SCHEDULE: Monday-Thursday (7AM-6PM) and Friday (7AM-4PM)
ATTRIBUTES
Hand Therapy experience preferred
Certification in Hand Therapy preferred
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy OR Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
- NYS License in Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy
RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Evaluation. Assess patient impairment and current condition to evaluate rehabilitation potential; report on patient progress, communicate effectively with physician and other team members; counsel patient and family according to degree of disability or impairment
Treatment & Planning. Actively participates in rehabilitation team efforts to meet patient needs, including, but not limited to: Hand center case rounds, counseling and teaching patients and their families, discussing changes in treatment programs with MD's, coordinating health care plans with other involved health professionals.
Documentation. Maintains complete documentation of patients' evaluations, treatment, progress, and discharge status. Sends required information to appropriate professionals.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
PAY RANGE: $66,560.00 - $100,000.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
