As a Radiologic Technologist Supervisor, your dedication to quality imaging and developed ability to coach, guide and mentor employees makes your role crucial in the development of Radiologic Technologists and the department as a whole.

STATUS: Full-Time
LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, Day Shift


  • Supervisory experience preferred
  • Computer skills required

  • Assures compliance for current licensure/certification on all staff.
  • Maintains accountability for patient throughout and film quality in assigned supervisory areas.
  • Attends Leadership meetings and cascades information to staff.
  • Responsible for participating in the interview process and making recommendation for hiring of staff as needed.
  • Performs Annual Performance appraisals and ensures mandatory in-services are completed within set time frame.
  • Technologists are trained and provided with current updated procedural changes in the Diagnostic Section of the department.
  • Maintains equipment and supplies in accordance with hospital process and procedure. Equipment malfunctions are reported immediately to the Chief Technologist and service personnel.
  • Responsible for assigning studies to technologists and coordinating staff availability with other supervisors.
  • Responsible for the radiographs of all patients in all areas as needed.
  • Supervises Diagnostic employees on all shifts and assures that all duties are performed.
  • Maintains accountability for proper documentation of exams and related procedures utilizing the RIS/PACS.
  • Calls preliminary reports to doctor’s offices or nursing floors at the request of the Radiologist.
  • Responsible for reviewing and sign off for overtime submitted by Diagnostic staff.
  • Excellent customer service behaviors will be expected and employees held accountable thereof.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
• 2 years college certificate or equivalent
• Supervisory experience preferred
• Computer skills required.

Required Licensure/Certification Skills:
• NYS license in Radiologic Technology required OR must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT)
• In the outpatient setting, American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT) required within 1 year of hire.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.


  • RT(R) - Registered Radiologic Technologist - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PAY RANGE: $30.00 - $45.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
