System Engineer - Senior

SUMMARY

As a Senior System Engineer, your superior computer knowledge and excellent customer service greatly assists you in architecting, designing and evaluating hardware and software server solutions for departmental needs.

STATUS: Full Time

LOCATION: Riedman Campus

DEPARTMENT: Information Technology - Infrastructure Systems

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday days

ATTRIBUTES

  • Minimum of five (5) to ten (10) years of previous computer server experience, including Windows Server Operating Systems and Storage Management.
  • 2+ years of Microsoft Azure experience involving design, deployment, configuration and optimization.
  • Experience in the design and operation of medium to large scale enterprise infrastructure, databases and application systems.
  • Experience in IaC development with Terraform, Azure CLI, Puppet, and Ansible
  • Stong Active Directory skills to include Design, Maintenance, Security and Application Integration.
  • Experience scripting with Perl, Python and PowerShell
  • Strong Cloud Experience preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and administer the Microsoft Azure cloud environment, including provisioning, configuration, performance monitoring, policy governance and security
  • Design, develop, and implement highly available, multi-region solutions within Microsoft Azure
  • Analyze existing operational standards, processes, and/or governance to identify and implement improvements
  • Migrate existing infrastructure services to cloud-based solutions
  • Manage security and access controls of cloud-based solutions
  • Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) leveraging cloud native tooling to ensure automated and consistent platform deployments
  • Develop and implement policy driven data protection best practices to ensure cloud solutions are protected from data loss

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: L - Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly; requires occasional walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $78,000.00 - $105,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
