Development Officer

Description

SUMMARY:
The Development Officer is responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major gift prospects and donors in support of Rochester Regional Health, with a focus on United Memorial Medical Center. The Development Officer will effectively manage a major gift pipeline for Rochester Regional Health hospital, clinical departments, community programs and/or service Lines, and ideally raise in excess of $750,000 per year.

DEPARTMENT: Rochester Regional Health Foundation

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday; Days [Evenings & Weekends are required for events]

ATTRIBUTES

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education

  • 3 to 5 years sales and/or fundraising experience required

  • Must be available to support Foundation events that occasionally occur on weeknights and weekends

  • NYS Driver’s License

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development. Execute the fundraising plans for one or more areas of the development team, such as: major giving, planned giving, grateful patient philanthropy, corporate giving, etc. Focus on identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gift prospects within an assigned portfolio. Work closely with clinical teams and leadership at RRH to align fundraising efforts to maximize impact.

  • Donor Relations. Manage a portfolio of major gift prospects and donors to maximize their philanthropic contributions. Partner with foundation colleagues, clinicians, volunteers, and others to develop relationships with prospective donors that lead to gifts.

  • Gift Management. Consistently utilize Raiser’s Edge to document all activities, including written strategies, actions and proposals. Manage activities to ensure achievement of annual metrics for visits, asks and gifts. Write and assist in the drafting of major gift proposals. Ensure that all fundraising activities with patients are compliant with all state and federal HIPAA privacy regulations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

PAY RANGE: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
