SUMMARY

Serves as Manager of the Respiratory Care Department, with responsibility for staffing, planning, organizing, coordinating and directing the administrative, operational and clinical activities associated with providing respiratory care at the designated affiliate of Rochester General Health System.

STATUS: Full Time

LOCATION: 1555 Long Pond Road Rochester, NY 14626

DEPARTMENT: Respiratory Care

SCHEDULE: Monday - Thursday Days | 7:00am to 5:00pm

ATTRIBUTES

  • Associates degree in respiratory therapy or related field required, Bachelor’s preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Respiratory Care with at least 2 years’ experience in a similar position in a large general hospital.
  • New York State Respiratory Therapist license with current registration required
  • Current NBRC RRT credential is required for all Respiratory Therapist entering the field after 9/1993
  • ACLS certification (current) required within one year of hire
  • Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills
  • Leadership skills necessary

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develops or maintains all policies, procedures, competencies, and protocols used by the Respiratory Care team at RGHS affiliate. Works with other RGHS affiliates to insure coordination of these activities.
  • Maintains accountability for scheduling and staffing through the assistance of the Supervisor and others delegated with schedule development and payroll.
  • Monitors the development of education programs that meets the needs of the Respiratory Care Team and Nursing staff pertaining to respiratory care education needs at the RGHS affiliate.
  • Monitors the evaluation and management of respiratory care technology.
  • Maintains accountability for the performance, recognition and discipline of all department team members.
  • Provides Customer Satisfaction through meeting the goals of our RGH Mission and Vision, and by continuously performing duties commensurate with our values

  • BS (Required)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • RT - Respiratory Therapist - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

PAY RANGE: $65,042.00 - $113,750.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
