Job Title: Nurse Educator - Ambulatory
Location: Riedman Campus - 100 Kings Highway South Rochester, NY 14617
Hours Per Week: 40
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-5pm
SUMMARY
Provides and/or facilitates learning opportunities for employees, patients/residents/clients and the community in order to promote quality care, enhanced wellness, and on-going growth and development.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Responsibilities:
• Identifies and validates the learning needs of customers by utilizing needs assessments, CQI results, performance improvement results, customer surveys, and course evaluation results.
• Develops educational programs and curriculum that promote quality health care, employee or patient growth, and personal wellness. Programs will be based on current literature findings. Materials will be developed using current research in the field.
• Implements and/or facilitates programs to meet the identified learning needs of our customers. Provides in-depth orientation, in-service and continuing education for staff or patients.
• Evaluates and documents the effectiveness of educational offerings by developing, monitoring and assessing competencies. Implements changes based on need. Analyzes cost to maximize the efficient utilization of resources.
• Provides leadership in areas of expertise as a resource to the customer. May assess clinical competence of staff with new procedures and/or equipment.
• Utilizes effective communication strategies by developing communications and audio visual materials that are clear and concise.
• Utilizes appropriate marketing for programs both internally and externally.
• Maintains professional affiliations as appropriate to keep abreast of new developments and participates in activities that enhance personal and professional growth.
For ElderONE Only:
• Coordination of general orientation for all new hires.
• Coordination and development of yearly mandatory process.
• Serve as Infection Control Nurse. Provide tracking and monitoring of infections. Participate in System committees including C.Difficile Multidisciplinary Steering Committee Team. Provide on-going teaching and training re: infection prevention.
• Performs other duties as directed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree required in nursing, health education, or instructional development OR
- An equivalent combination of education and healthcare related work experience will be considered

- BS: Nursing (Required)
- BS: Health Education
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)
- RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
PAY RANGE: $76,500.00 - $105,000.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
