SUMMARY
The Clinical Resource Nurses is an experienced registered nurse who is responsible for assisting, guiding, coaching, promoting and executing quality care delivery throughout the inpatient acute care units. They are responsible to round and assist staff nurses in improving quality care by assisting in the provision of direct care as needed. They also assist in teaching staff and patients to enhance a patient centered care model and the patients individual plan of care. The Clinical Resource Nurse serves as a role model and staff nurse support and resource for excellence in clinical care and the overall patient experience. They provide superior patient/family customer service to align with the overall expectation of a positive patient experience.
SPECIAL CARE NURSERY
The Clinical Resource Nurse will be responsible for supporting the day to day operations of the August Family Birth Place, specifically the Special Care Nursery. There are three intermediate level beds in addition to some phototherapy bays. Experience in a NICU or Special Care Nursery is required. The Clinical Resource Nurse will also be oriented to post-partum nursing so that they may assist on days when there are no special care infants. They will have a combination of bedside and office work.
STATUS: Full Time - 40 hours
LOCATION: Unity Hospital
DEPARTMENT: August Family Birth Place
SCHEDULE: Days, some evening and nights as needed; weekends; on-call.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicates with multidisciplinary team and documents assessment of patient appropriately. Develops and documents plan of care, treatment and services which is individualized and appropriate for the patient needs strengths, limitations and goals.
- Demonstrates effective communication with the patient / family while maintaining an appropriate nurse-patient relationship.
- Revises plan of care based on ongoing evaluations and updates documentation appropriately.
- Rounds on each unit throughout the shift to include charge nurse and staff nurse communication to review priority and expected needs of the patients and staff.
- Demonstrates ability to perform a wide variety of tasks in an organized fashion, is self directed in task accomplishment and priority setting. Demonstrates the ability to guide and direct the work of other collaboratively.
- Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Demonstrates flexibility in meeting staffing needs throughout the organization.
- Participates in problem-solving activities at the unit level by identifying the problem and collaboratively working toward resolution.
- Provides input regarding protocols, policies and procedures to immediate supervisor.
- Demonstrates knowledge of evidence-based practice within practice area and identifies opportunities for performance improvement. Participates in educational programs to increase professional competence.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or Associates degree in nursing required.
- 3-5 years of acute care experience
EDUCATION:
- BS: Nursing (Required)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- RN - Registered Nurse - New York State Education Department (NYSED)
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)
PAY RANGE: $35.00 - $48.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
