Hours Per Week: 24

Schedule: Days | 4am - 12:30pm w/ weekend rotations

SUMMARY:

As a Patient Services Technician II you put patients at ease while collecting specimens and ensure that all patient information is accurate and meets system compliance standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Data Entry & Reporting - Use the Laboratory Information System (LIS) to enter client information; manually confirm the identity of patients and document essential information to complete procurement, processing and testing of specimens.

  • Specimen Collection - Execute venipuncture procedure including heel stick and finger stick techniques for the procurement of blood specimens; perform the essential functions necessary to maintain the integrity of the specimens for testing; train new employees or staff on phlebotomy procedures.

  • Patient Care - Greet and assist patients to provide general information; communicate with patients for information exchange to ensure accuracy, when necessary.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certificate in Phlebotomy preferred.

  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills.

  • Basic keyboard/data entry skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $19.75 - $19.75

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
