There’s never been a more exciting time to join Rochester Regional Health, with the opportunity to work in the Sands-Constellation Center for Critical Care, our new state-of-the-art building located on the Rochester General Hospital Campus. The Sands-Constellation Center for Critical Care reaffirms our commitment to providing the highest level of care to the community. Designed by health care professionals, the purposeful unit layouts enable our teams to work at the highest levels of their training. From state-of-the-art technologies to equipment and resources located where doctors and nurses said they’d be most convenient, the Sands-Constellation Center for Critical Care has everything you could want or need to provide advanced, innovative care for your patients. What’s more, it is designed to adapt to the evolving technologies and patient needs for many years to come.
The seven-story, 312,000 square foot Sands-Constellation Center for Critical Care features 108 private acuity-adaptable patient rooms in total with 16 open nursing stations. The innovative new units include:
- 20 operating rooms averaging 900 to 1,100 square feet, designed for various pro¬cedures
- Post-anesthesia care unit: 28 private patient bays with extensive nurse support
- Two 50-inch monitors in each OR to view MRI, CT, and other patient imaging in real time
- Robotic procedure space
Women’s Health and Newborn Care
- The Twig Neonatal Intensive Care Unit: 14 spacious private rooms
- Postpartum suite with 20 private rooms designed to ensure a family-centered environment around both mother and baby
- Unique features including adjoining rooms for newborn twins, allowing better access for family and care
Medical ICU, Surgical ICU and Oncology
- 36 private patient rooms per floor all with natural light
- Family-centered environment that allows loved ones to be more involved with care
- Four times the space of its predecessor
- Dedicated “clean and dirty” elevators help increase infection prevention success rates
- Separate air handling units for the first three floors and the upper floors
