Title: Radiology Therapy Tech
STATUS: Full-time
LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital
DEPARTMENT: Radiation
SCHEDULE: Mon - Fri; Rotation of 7 am - 3:30 pm, 7:30 am- 4 pm & 8 am-4:30 pm.
On-Call: on call weekends, approximately once every 7 weeks

RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Care. Perform simulations for treatment under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist; construct immobilization devices and custom shielding; schedule patient appointments; deliver prescribed therapeutic doses of radiation; take port films and labels to be checked appropriately; record treatment records, including dose addition, documentation of port films, adjustments in prescriptions, diagrams, blocking, and landmark
Quality Control & Documentation. Ensure quality control procedures on equipment; keep daily Log Sheets, including documentation of inpatients, finishes, new courses, new patients, electron patients, and non-malignant cases; keep necessary records for department statistics.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate of 2 2-year Radiation Therapist Program
New Graduates: Official transcript from an accredited school or a letter emailed directly from the school’s registrar’s office confirming program completion will be accepted upon graduation. Primary source education verification is required within 90 days of graduation.
Required Licensure/Certification:
NYS Licensure as a Radiation Therapist required OR must hold a NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of hire.
Preferred Attributes:
ARRT certification preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
PAY RANGE: $35.00 - $48.00

Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
