LOCATION: Unity Hospital

DEPARTMENT: Radiology

SCHEDULE: Fri, Sat & Sunday; 12 pm - 12 am.

On-call: 3 shifts/month

SUMMARY

As a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist, your ability to empathize with patients, specialized technical skills, and dedication to quality greatly enhance the overall success of imaging for diagnostic use in patient care in RRH Radiology. Performs Computed Tomography (CT) imaging and assists radiologists in performing CT Interventional procedures, obtaining images of good diagnostic quality while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients undergoing these procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patient Care. Responsible for radiography of patients, including CT scans and Interventional CT guided procedures; provide on-call coverage for CT section of Radiology; follow up on patient care issues/needs

  • Documentation. Maintain accountability for proper documentation of exams and procedures; document performance of studies in patient charts

  • Daily Maintenance. Assist with day-to-day supervision of the CT team; clean, restock and prepare rooms

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two-year college degree in Radiologic Technologist in Applied Science or equivalent.

  • Required Licensure/Certification Skills: NYS license in Radiologic Technology, or must hold NYS permit and obtain licensure within six months of employment.

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification (ARRT-R) within six months of employment.

  • NYS Injection Certification within six months of employment.

  • Excellent computer skills required

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior Radiologic Technologist experience preferred

  • CT experience preferred

  • Continuing education classes

EDUCATION:

  • AS: Radiologic Technology (Required)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

  • RT(R) - Registered Radiologic Technologist - NYS Office of Professions

PAY RANGE: $32.00 - $44.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
