Plastic Surgeon | Build a General & Hand Surgery Practice in Rochester, NY


Rochester Regional Health is seeking an experienced Plastic Surgeon to establish and grow a Plastic Surgery practice at Rochester General Hospital (RGH).


This is an opportunity to build a broad-based practice around patient and referral needs at RGH while practicing as part of the larger Plastic Surgery team across Rochester Regional Health. We’re looking for a surgeon who is ready to practice independently, develop strong referral relationships, and help shape the future of Plastic Surgery at RGH.


Shape Your Practice

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Establish and grow a broad-based Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery practice at RGH
  • Provide basic hand surgery as an important component of the clinical practice
  • Collaborate closely with Breast Surgery and other surgical specialties to develop reconstructive referral relationships
  • Help shape the clinical capabilities and future growth of Plastic Surgery at RGH
  • Bring additional expertise such as lymphovenous bypass (LVB), if part of your clinical skill set

Establish and grow Plastic Surgery at our tertiary care hospital while remaining connected to Plastic Surgery colleagues across Rochester Regional Health. You’ll have the independence to shape your practice while developing strong partnerships with Breast Surgery and other surgical specialties across an integrated health system.


What You Bring

We’re looking for a Plastic Surgeon who can step into the opportunity, practice independently, and build strong clinical and referral relationships from day one.

  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Plastic Surgery
  • Eligible for New York State medical licensure
  • Experience in broad-based Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
  • Comfortable performing basic hand surgery
  • Experienced surgeon required
  • Hand Surgery fellowship training welcomed, but not required
  • Lymphovenous bypass experience is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • $400,000–$500,000 base salary + incentives

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

PAY RANGE: $400,000.00 - $450,000.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
