SUMMARY

As a Physical Therapist – Outpatient Orthopedics, your ability to design, plan, and implement personalized physical therapy interventions greatly enhances patient function and overall quality of life.

STATUS: Full-time

LOCATION: Physical Therapy & Rehabilitation - 2655 Ridgeway Ave, Rochester, NY 14626

DEPARTMENT: Physical Therapy

SCHEDULE: Day shift, 40 hrs per week; 8-hr. shifts; Monday - Friday 7 am - 6 pm (two evening shifts per week until 6 pm)

POSITION SUMMARY
Assesses and restores patients' function, alleviates pain, and prevents disabilities by designing, planning, and implementing medically prescribed physical therapy interventions. Provide 1:1 patient care and superior customer service by modeling the Brand Promise and Core Values.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Treatment & Planning. Meet patient goals and needs by providing quality, evidence-based care; assess, develop, and implement an individualized treatment plan; help the patient accomplish the treatment plan and accept therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises; instruct, encourage, and assist patients in performing physical activities, such as non-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities. Provide 1:1 patient care.

  • Discharge Management. Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instruct patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommend and provide assistive equipment; recommend outpatient or home health follow-up programs

  • Leadership. Develop physical therapy staff by providing information; develop and conduct in-service training programs

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy or Bachelor’s degree with prior experience as a licensed Physical Therapist required.

  • Required Licensure/Certification: Current New York State license or a limited permit as a Registered Physical Therapist. If a New York State license or limited permit is not held, must be hired within 90 days of graduation from a New York State or APTA-accredited physical therapist education program and meet Practice Exemption under New York State Physical Therapy License Requirements.

  • If working in home care or traveling between locations, a NYS license is required.

  • Developed leadership skills

  • Patient-focused, with demonstrated care and compassion

  • Exceptional communication and documentation skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

PAY RANGE: $71,000.00 - $101,920.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
