LOCATION: Newark Wayne Community Hospital - 1200 Driving Park Avenue Newark, NY 14513
DEPARTMENT: Facilities
SCHEDULE: Day shift M-F 7am-330pm, every other weekend requirement
SUMMARY:
May perform essential functions of Housekeeping, Floor Care, Security, Supply Distribution, Inventory Control, Minor Maintenance, Building & Ground Maintenance, Waste Handling and Waste Processing.
ATTRIBUTES:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs routine maintenance work orders.
Evaluates broken equipment and performs minor repairs as needed.
Maintains a clean, safe, and functional working environment.
Assists in delivering supplies, equipment maintenance, room turnover, emergency response, patient and/or specimen transport, and routine housekeeping functions.
Provides technical responsibilities such as mixing bicarbonate, restocking acid concentrate, or setting up Dialysis equipment for Dialysis treatment.
Tests treated water for chloramines levels and disinfects the Bicarbonate Delivery System Loop.
Provides security support services as required.
Performs other duties as requested.
REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS:
1-5 years previous work experience in a related field.
For ElderONE employment and other areas of elderly care: 1 year experience working with the frail elderly population is preferred.
May require a valid NYS drivers license
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Heavy - This category includes physically intensive work such as lifting heavy materials (up to 100 lbs.), climbing ladders, crawling into tight spaces, and working on uneven, slippery, or elevated surfaces. Employees must demonstrate strong motor coordination, balance, and spatial awareness to safely operate tools and equipment. High visual and auditory alertness is required, especially in areas with moving machinery. Emotional demands are moderate, focusing on hazard recognition, task accuracy, and adherence to safety standards. Environmental exposures may include extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, loud noise, and mechanical hazards. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and periodic physical examinations are often required.
PAY RANGE: $17.50 - $21.58
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
