SUMMARY:
The EHR Application Analyst Lead is the most senior individual contribution on the analyst team, serving as the primary subject matter expert for complex Electronic Health Record (EHR) system issues, configurations, and optimization. This role tackles the highest-complexity work, holds multiple Epic certifications and serves as the top technical escalation resource for the team. The Application Analyst Lead also takes on coordination responsibilities – helping organize team workflows and supporting project management – while driving continuous improvement and sharing deep expertise across the organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead System Support and Maintenance:
• Serve as the primary technical escalation resource for the most complex system issues, errors, and configuration, applying expert-level, troubleshooting to drive resolution with minimal disruption to patient care.
• Work closely with operations to develop and coordinate issue resolution plans for high-impact or cross-team problems.
• Oversee and coordinate routine maintenance activities - including software updates, patches, and upgrade - ensuring stability and security standards are met.
• Coordinate and lead testing and validation activities for system changes, enhancements, and upgrades, following established change management processes.
• Participate in on-call rotations, serving as the lead resource for complex or escalated after-hours issues.
System Optimization and Continuous Improvement:
• Lead system optimization efforts, applying expert knowledge of EHR capabilities and healthcare workflows to identify inefficiencies and drive measurable improvement.
• Conduct advanced workflow assessments with operational partners to identify build opportunities and optimization needs.
• Advance optimization and enhancement requests through governance and change management channels; provide expert input on prioritization decisions.
• Apply cross-application integration knowledge to ensure cohesive system performance and identify dependencies across modules.
• Contribute technical expertise to strategic planning discussions, informing roadmap direction and technology decisions.
Collaboration and Vendor Engagement:
• Coordinate work among team members on EHR projects, upgrades, and initiatives — tracking tasks, maintaining issue logs, facilitating meetings, and communicating status to project or team leads.
• Take on light project management responsibilities for defined initiatives, including maintaining project plans and coordinating timelines across stakeholders.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for EHR vendor relationships, managing open support requests, evaluating release notes for operational impact, and participating in user group sessions and advisory forums.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams — including IT, clinicians, administrators, and vendors — to support EHR initiatives and facilitate effective communication.
Documentation and Knowledge Management:
• Maintain and own comprehensive documentation of complex system configurations, processes, and build decisions.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing practices that ensure critical information is accessible and current across the team.
Training and Mentorship:
• Serve as a go-to knowledge resource for junior and senior analysts, providing guidance on complex issues and sharing best practices.
• Support onboarding of new team members and contribute to informal training and skill-building across the team.
Compliance and Data Privacy:
• Handle all protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA regulations and organizational data privacy and security policies.
• Complete required compliance training and model information security best practices for the team.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an EHR Application Analyst, Epic Application Analyst, Clinical Systems Analyst, or in a similar healthcare IT role supporting EHR implementation, optimization, and system support.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS:
• Epic Certifications.

• Basic project management skills, including ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issue logs, manage timelines).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, healthcare or related field.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Light - Light non-clinical roles include frequent standing or walking and minimal lifting, typically under 20 lbs. Tasks often involve sitting at a workstation, using a computer, handling paperwork, and interacting with colleagues or visitors. Fine motor control is essential for typing and administrative tasks, while clear vision and hearing support accurate communication. Emotional and cognitive demands include managing multiple tasks, handling interruptions, and exercising independent judgment. Environmental exposures are generally low but may include shared workspaces, proximity to clinical areas, or occasional crowding.
PAY RANGE: $90,000.00 - $98,000.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
