JOB TITLE: Monitor Tech

STATUS: Part Time

LOCATION: Massena Hospital - 1 Hospital Drive Massena, NY 13662

DEPARTMENT: Med/Surge/PCU

SCHEDULE: Evening/Nights, 330pm-1130pm, 1130pm-730am, weekend requirement

SUMMARY

As a Monitor Tech at Massena Hospital, you’ll play an important role in patient care by keeping a close watch on heart rhythms in the ICU and for telemetry patients. You’ll work closely with the care team, reporting any changes or concerns right away to help keep patients safe. In this role, you’ll also assist with equipment troubleshooting, communicate with Biomed when needed, and provide clear handoffs to the next shift. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitors ECG Patterns in the Intensive Care Unit

  • Monitors rhvthms for Telemetry Patients

  • Reports monitor/Central Information Center malfunctions to the ICU Director and Charge Nurse. Makes calls as necessary to Biomed

  • Reports rhythm patterns of all patients to on-coming shift

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Basic Computer Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and telephone etiquette

  • Ability to establish priorities in a changing work environment

  • ECG course to be completed once employed, prior to independent assignment. Competency to be assessed on an ongoing basis via concurrent review of rhythm strips by ECG trained RN.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Medical Terminology

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $18.10 - $25.72

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
