JOB TITLE: Mammo Tech Lead

STATUS: Full Time

LOCATION: Imaging Center - RGH - 1415 Portland Avenue Suite 190 Rochester, NY 14621

DEPARTMENT: Imaging Services

SCHEDULE: Days, M-F, 8 hr shifts

SUMMARY

As a Mammo Tech-Lead, you are to demonstrate excellent customer service, communication skills and obtain quality positioning and imaging quality studies while providing maximum comfort and safety to patients. Warm and comforting patient care skills is mandatory for these sensitive procedures. Performs screening and diagnostic mammogram examinations and assists radiologist in performing mammographic procedures. This team member’s role is to obtain images of good diagnostic quality while providing maximum comfort and safety to the patient undergoing these exams.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in performance management conversations and HR accountability.

  • Modality subject expert and is a resource for maintaining standardization.

  • Responsible for monthly, weekly and daily staffing schedules as assigned.

  • Assists in new technologists recruitment, and on-boarding and orientation.

  • Large responsibility for maintaining compliance and continued readiness for MQSA inspections including but not limited to personnel files for radiologist, technologist and physicist, and Mammo QA record review for affiliated sites as needed.

  • Assists or performs ACR submission and image evaluation.

  • Reviews and preps for interventional mammography examinations and reviews cases with the radiologists as needed.

  • Acts as a liaison between Radiologist and staff Technologist.

  • Trains staff on new procedures.

  • Performs Mammo QA and takes key responsibility for training other QA technologists.

  • Responsible for compliance of departmental safety procedures and assists in training staff on new safety protocols.

  • Performs PACS reconciliations as needed.

  • Evaluates image quality and provides regular feedback to Mammo Techs.

  • Provides feedback for performance appraisals of Mammo Techs to leadership

  • Orders supplies and maintains par levels as assigned.

  • Assists in DNV inspection compliance and training.

  • Performs or has extensive knowledge of the various mammo procedures and equipment including stereotactic.

  • Works with other departments to facilitate scheduling of procedures in a timely manner.

  • Knowledge of Dexa preferred.

  • Works with the physicist as needed for QA and radiation safety needs.

  • Requires a strong working relationship with the Breast surgeon staff.

  • Provides support, direction and assistance to the multiple ambulatory imaging sites that perform mammography.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Two year college degree in Radiologic Technologist in Applied Science or equivalent.

  • Three years’ experience as a Mammo Tech.

  • NYS license in Radiologic Technology.

  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT-R).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • BLS Certification.

  • Prior Radiologic Technologist experience.

  • ARRT Advanced Mammography Certification (ARRT-M).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and ability to work various software applications.

  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $33.00 - $45.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
