Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Pulmonary

Hours Per Week: 40
Schedule: 8-hour shifts, 7:30-4 or 8-4:30, no weekend, holidays, or on-call
SUMMARY
Responsible for providing clinical support to medical providers in a pulmonary / sleep medicine physician practice setting and under the direction of a physician. Support provided must be within the employee’s education, experience and scope of clinical practice; and will include but not be limited to triaging patient & referring physician phone calls, rooming patients in exam rooms, taking vital signs, collecting & documenting pertinent patient information, conducting tests, providing patient equipment and providing patient & family education. The position provides clerical support on an as needed basis. Provide superior customer service by modeling the Brand Promise and Core Values.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Effectively triages phone calls from patients and referring physicians.
Greets patients, collects pertinent information (including CPAP performance and compliance data for sleep medicine patients), and prepares them for examination by the medical providers.
Effectively and efficiently conducts pulmonary function and other testing consistent with scope of practice, training and experience.
Provides patients with prescribed equipment and supplies; facilitates CPAP therapy with durable medical equipment (DME) providers and provides related patient / family education regarding use.
Provides patient / family education regarding pulmonary diseases, sleep disorders, testing, treatments, and behavior modification.
Coordinate care with other providers (including DME providers), diagnostic, treatment, and rehabilitation services.
Supports clinical activities of the practice which include but are limited to; meeting with CPAP equipment representatives regarding new and updated equipment, maintaining supplies inventories, and checking / maintaining equipment.
Provides assistance to clerical staff on an as needed basis.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent certificate
Required Licensure/Certification Skill:
New York State Respiratory Therapist license with current registration, including credentials received prior to 9/1993
OR
New York State Respiratory Therapy Technician (RTT) license AND National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) active credentials as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree
Minimum 3 years respiratory therapy experience
1-year pulmonary function testing experience
PFT certification

STATUS: Full Time
LOCATION: Professional Office Building Greece NY, Linden Oaks 10 Hagen Drive.
DEPARTMENT: Unity Pulmonary Medicine
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 730-400. No weekends, no holidays, and no on call.
Responsibilities
- Provide education of respiratory care and clinical support to patients and providers
- Perform pulmonary function testing with patients
- Perform arterial blood gases
- Support and establish services for different respiratory modalities
- Perform cardiopulmonary exercise testing
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
- CRT- Certified Respiratory Therapist - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
PAY RANGE: $34.14 - $45.70
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future.
