SUMMARY

As a Nurse (LPN) in Hemodialysis, your specialized skill set and ability to collaborate with the Registered Nurse is vital to exceptional patient care.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Patient Care & Evaluation. Conduct a thorough assessment of each patient’s medical status upon admission and throughout the patient’s course of treatment; provide regular patient status updates
  • Treatment Administration. Assist in the implementation of the patient’s treatment plan under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN); initiate and discontinue dialysis treatments using multiple access sites; administer IVP medications to dialysis patients
  • Documentation. Complete required documentation in an accurate and timely manner

    Nurse, in accordance with established plans.

    Key Responsibilities:

    The LPN working in Hemodialysis responsibilities include application/mastery of skills in area of specialization, guidance and general oversight to less experienced employees; may train new employees. The duties and tasks reflect substantial variety and complexity. Serves as a resource to others in the resolution of complex issues, patient cases or technical skills.
    •Conducts and documents a thorough assessment of each patient’s medical status upon admission and throughout the patient’s course of treatment.
    •Assists in the implementation of the patient’s treatment plan under the direction of the RN.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - NYS Office of Professions
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association (AHA)

PAY RANGE: $27.80 - $33.92

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
