JOB TITLE: Laundry Attendant - Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Environmental Services (Per Diem, Days)
STATUS: Per Diem
LOCATION: SLH - CPH - 50 Leroy Street, Potsdam, NY 13676
DEPARTMENT: Environmental Services
SCHEDULE: M-Sun, 5:00 AM - 1:00 PM, As Needed
SUMMARY
Maintain sanitary and attractive surroundings, provide excellent customer service and comply with all safety guidelines according to hospital/regulatory standards. Uphold OSHA and MSDS practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Removal and disposal of trash and waste product.
- Load/unload dryers, fold clean linen. Cleaning of the laundry baskets. May provide assistance to laundry washman when necessary.
- Cleaning and dusting of their work areas.
- Maintain the grounds and walkway surroundings.
- Operate a truck and trailer in forward and reverse.
- Respond to visitor, patient and staff requests for assistance.
- Maintain knowledge of OSHA and MSDS practices and departmental Laundry logs.
- High focus on customer and patient satisfaction.
- Working as a team towards accomplishing departmental goals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Valid NYS Driver's License Required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Drive - These positions involve frequent driving across varied routes, with regular loading and unloading of materials and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. or more. Employees must safely enter and exit vehicles, push or pull carts, and navigate ramps, stairs, and uneven surfaces. Strong visual and auditory acuity are essential for safe vehicle operation and task performance. Emotional and cognitive requirements include sustained attention, managing time-sensitive deliveries, and responding to schedule changes. Environmental exposures include inclement weather, roadway hazards, and loading dock conditions.
PAY RANGE: $18.10 - $25.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
