SUMMARY

LOCATION: Rochester General Hospital - 1425 Portland Ave, Rochester, NY 14621
DEPARTMENT: Speech Language Pathology
SCHEDULE: Days, Weekdays/Weekends TBD by applicant's availability
RESPONSIBILITIES
Evaluation & Planning. Perform a complete initial evaluation of referred patient; develop and implement treatment plans, including appropriate short- and long-term goals; involve the patient, family and staff in the implementation of the treatment program; re-evaluate patient functional status progressively; advance patient toward maximal performance and functional independence
Documentation. Maintain complete documentation of patient evaluations, treatment, progress, and discharge status; send required information to appropriate professionals
Collaboration. Actively participate in rehabilitation team efforts to meet patient needs, including counseling and teaching patient and family, discussing changes in treatment programs with MDs, coordinating healthcare plans with other involved professionals, and assisting in discharge planning as appropriate
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders (may be MA, MS, Med)
Minimum of nine (9) months of supervised work experience (completion of CFY), or participation in supervised clinical fellowship, for a minimum of 36 weeks under a NYS licensed Speech Pathologist, followed by the NYS licensure examination and achievement of NYS license
Required Licensure/Certification Skills: New York State licensure

For recent graduates: Completion of at least 9 months of supervised Clinical Fellowship year OR
Eligible to participate in a supervised Clinical Fellowship year by a NYS licensed Speech-Language Pathologist with a NYS Limited permit and followed by the NYS licensure examination and achievement of NYS license.Compassionate, warm, and patient-focused
Excellent organization and planning skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
One (1) year of experience with frail elderly population preferred
EDUCATION:
- MS: Speech Pathology (Required)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.
PAY RANGE: $69,000.00 - $99,840.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
