Hours Per Week: 37.5
Schedule: 8am to 5:30pm, includes every third weekend

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Food Preparation. Prepare food and baked goods following the daily assignments; maintain sufficient supplies of hot and cold foods for daily needs; assist Senior Cook in food preparation as requested
- Customer Service. Demonstrate excellent level of customer service, assist as needed and answer any questions to the best of your ability
- Documentation. Follow all departmental HAACP procedures including logging of all temperatures
- Sanitation. Ensure all equipment used is cleaned to code standards
Position Summary:
To prepare and cook food items and baked goods for patients/residents, cafeteria, catering, vending, and all retail operations within RGHS.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare food items and baked goods according to daily assignments.
• Maintain sufficient supplies of hot and cold foods for daily needs.
• Assists Senior Cook in food preparation as requested.
• Maintains the highest level of customer service as outlined by department and RGHS policies.
• Follows all departmental HAACP procedures including logging of all temperatures. Cleans all equipment used in accordance with New York State Sanitation Code, Chapter 1, Part 14.
• Responsible for attending all scheduled meetings and retaining all In-service information requested
• Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2-4 years previous experience in related field preferred
** Our top candidate will have at least one year of cooking experience in a Hospital setting or High Volume setting

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Moderate - These roles require a combination of movement and stationary work, including frequent standing, walking, and moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs.). Visual focus and spatial awareness are critical in facilities, logistics, or support settings. Emotional demands include managing interruptions, prioritizing tasks, and maintaining compliance with safety standards. Environmental exposures may include equipment noise, shared workspaces, and occasional proximity to hazardous areas. Physical capability screening may be required.
PAY RANGE: $17.50 - $21.58
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
